Morebattle Games ReportĀ  2013

First open event was the 800 metre Youth with newcomer Archie Pilcher from Kelso taking the honours in 2min 01.96sec from Michael Smith , Leithenburn and Josh Abbott, Kelso in third place.

The Open 800 metre was next up and Wallace McGown down from Sauchie was succesfull in 1min 51.04sec, long time leader Francis Cannon , Hawick just failing to hold on with Rory Muir , Dundee H.H. in third place.

John Thomson , Coaltown of Balgonie was too strong for backmarker Colin Welsh , Kelso in the 1600 metre Open with Steven Black , Kelso taking third place. Winning time was 4min 19.02sec.

The 90 metre Junior saw a first victory for Cameron Fowler , Eyemouth in 12.06sec with Josh Dougall , T.L.J.T. coming home in a close second and Caris Brus , T.L.J.T. taking third place.

Robbie Renwick , Peebles was another first time winner in the 90 metre Youth in 10.58sec. Eion Lowther , T.L.J.T. second and Phillipa Robertson T.L.J.T. third taking the minor places.

Wayne McIntosh , Kelso made his start count and held off Rory Muir , Dundee H.H. in the 3200 metre open in 9min 50.95sec. Derek Scott , Hawick took third place.

The Junior Lap Race was won by Josh Abbott , Kelso in 39.59sec , Sarah Davenport , T.L.J.T. came in second and Harry Fuller , Chirnside third.

Phillipa Robertson , T.L.J.T. was an excellent winner of the Youth Lap Race in 35.02sec , Anna Forsyth , Leithenburn took second place and Cameron Fisher , Jed AC in third place

Distance specialist Rory Anderson , Hawick moved down to the Lap distance of 266.66 metre and lived up to his name and roared away from the field winning in 29.68sec Euan Pettigrew , Kelso and Ceiran Turton , E.A.C. taking the minor places.

Michael Smith , Leithenburn claimed his first victory in the 1600 metre Youth in 4 min 36.76sec with Joey Brown , Gala Harr and Ruaridh Britton following him home.

Fifer Billy Martin , Glenrothes claimed victory in the 110 metre EDDIE YOUNG Sprint in 12.02sec holding off Tommy Finkle , T.L.J.T. and Jack Wilson , Hawick.
